Greece is one of the first countries in the EU to prepare a law that will automatically block underage people from iGaming websites. The main aim is to protect teenagers and children from potentially risky websites and harmful habits.

Apart from gambling websites, tobacco sites and social networks will also be restricted for teens younger than 15 years old. This way the influence of unhealthy content will be decreased for most vulnerable groups.

The government will create a special app, “Kids Wallet,” to implement the measures. It will check the user’s age and filter the access on the device. Now the Greek government is talking to the biggest IT companies, including Google, to make sure the system is safe and works smoothly.

The law is to be accepted really soon. If it comes into force, Greece will be one of the first European countries to protect children from online risks!
