Reddit has launched Max Campaigns, a new AI-powered advertising format designed to automate and optimise ad performance across the platform.

The tool uses machine learning based on Reddit’s community data to handle targeting, creative selection, placements and budget optimisation in real time, while advertisers only set high-level goals. In early tests, Reddit reports higher conversion rates and lower acquisition costs compared to standard campaigns.

A key difference from other automated ad tools is transparency. Max Campaigns include Top Audience Personas, which show advertisers which interest-based user groups are engaging with ads and why. The system also suggests ad copy based on language used in relevant communities and automatically adapts creatives to Reddit’s formats, reducing manual work.

Why does it matter for affiliates?

For affiliate marketers, AI-powered campaigns like Reddit’s Max model can be a game-changer. Affiliates often juggle multiple traffic sources and campaign tests; automation that reliably improves conversions and reduces cost per acquisition frees up time and budget for scaling and experimenting with offers.

The persona insights also help affiliates understand which audience segments are most responsive — data that can inform landing pages, creatives, and offer targeting. Additionally, Max’s automated optimisation reduces the need for granular manual bidding and subreddit selection, which can be especially helpful when affiliates run numerous performance campaigns at once, or lack deep specialist knowledge of Reddit’s unique community structures.
