Swedish regulator Spelinspektionen has banned Altacore N.V. from operating in the country. The Curaçao-based company was found to be offering gambling services to Swedish players without a local license and trying to get around the rules with cloned sites.

Investigation Uncovers Evasion via Mirror Sites

Spelinspektionen started the investigation in July 2024 when they found out that Altacore brands — Betify, Wintopia, Icebet, and Yonibet — were available to Swedish players. The sites had Swedish language and automatically selected Sweden as the default country, so it was intentional.

After being notified, Altacore blocked Swedish IPs for some domains. But Spelinspektionen later found duplicate sites with the same branding and structure launched under new domain names. These mirror sites had no transparent ownership and were still available in Sweden.

Final Decision and Consequences

According to the regulator, Altacore showed a clear intention to circumvent Swedish gambling law. Since they were non-compliant and repeated offenders, Spelinspektionen issued a formal ban, prohibiting Altacore from offering or marketing gambling services in Sweden.

The case proves Sweden’s zero tolerance towards unlicensed operators and that duplicating sites won’t go unnoticed.
