Argentina has passed a new regulation that sets unified requirements for all advertising related to online gambling and betting across the country. The rules were published by the Secretariat of Industry and Commerce within the Ministry of Economy.
What’s Changing in Argentina’s Rules for Gambling Ads
- From December 3, 2025, every gambling-related advertisement, including banners, video, radio ads or social-media posts, must carry clear, visible warnings. The required disclaimers include “Gambling is harmful to your health” and “18+”. Messages must be simple, honest, and easy to understand, without misleading claims.
- The warnings must take up at least 10% of the ad’s height, appear at the bottom of the visual field, and be displayed in bold, high-contrast font throughout the ad.
- For radio adverts, the warning must be spoken clearly at the end, with no background music.
Why It Matters
The new rules apply broadly, not only to gambling operators, but also to marketing agencies, affiliates, and influencers who promote betting and casino platforms. In addition, individuals who see non-compliant ads, including adverts from influencers or public figures, will be able to file complaints through an official government portal.
Until now, gambling ad regulations in Argentina varied by province. Different regions had their own standards, leading to inconsistent rules across the country. With the new resolution, Argentina is switching to a single national standard, bringing clarity and uniformity to iGaming advertising.
The regulation is part of a broader effort to increase consumer protection, reduce misleading marketing, and limit exposure to gambling promotions among minors and vulnerable audiences. Operators and advertisers now have to update all their ads and marketing materials by 3 December 2025, otherwise non-compliance may cause fines.
