Police in Bali have arrested 39 Indian citizens accused of supporting the operations of the illegal online gambling platform Ram Betting Exchange.

Raids were carried out on February 3 at two villas located in the Badung and Tabanan areas. Authorities have formally charged 35 of the detainees, while four individuals are being treated as witnesses in the ongoing investigation.

According to law enforcement, the website had been active since late 2025 and was generating monthly revenues of up to $475,000. The platform primarily targeted players in India and was reportedly discovered through advertisements placed on Instagram. Investigators stated that the suspects entered Indonesia on tourist visas and chose to base themselves in Bali to blend in with the large number of Indian visitors to the island.

The detained individuals were allegedly employed to service the platform for a monthly salary of approximately $296. If convicted, they face prison sentences of up to nine years under Indonesian law. During searches of the villas, police seized 42 mobile phones, 15 laptops, three desktop computers, and two routers as evidence.

Despite the arrests, Ram Betting Exchange remained operational at the time of reporting. Deposits and withdrawals are reportedly still being processed via WhatsApp, indicating that parts of the network may continue to function.
