Pinterest has announced a major update to its advertising tools with the launch of Top of Search ads, giving brands new ways to capture possible clients at the very start of their search. In addition, new features such as Local Inventory Ads and Media Network Connect will help advertisers reach the right shoppers, show what’s in stock nearby, and run more effective campaigns.

What is Top of Search ads at Pinterest

The new format places promoted Pins within the Top 10 search results and in Related Pins, ensuring brands appear right where users are most likely to click.

According to Pinterest, nearly 45% of user clicks occur within the top 10 search results, making the new placement a valuable opportunity for advertisers to connect with users at the moment they’re ready to buy something. The feature also extends to the Related Pins section, helping brands to stay visible.

Top of Search ads show strong engagement

Pinterest says early tests have shown promising results. Top of Search ads delivered a 29% higher CTR and were 32% more likely to attract new clickers compared to standard campaigns.

The company highlights that 96% of top Pinterest searches are unbranded, showing that users come to the platform with open intent, ready to explore, not just search for specific brands.

Alongside Top of Search ads, Pinterest is introducing a range of updates that enhance the platform’s shopping and measurement experience.

  • Local Inventory Ads are now expanding across shopping markets, allowing retailers to display real-time product availability and prices from nearby stores.
  • Another Media Network Connect feature will let retailers and advertisers share the audience data, catalogs, and conversions securely within Pinterest Ads Manager. It allows advertisers to create and oversee their campaigns from a single platform, offering full visibility and control.
